Selected applicants hold 3.766 average GPA

Housing and Residence Life releases accepted students’ demographic data

Housing and Residence Life released demographic and academic data Thursday on accepted Lawn resident applicants. The Lawn Selection Committee received 251 applications and offered residency to 47 individuals.

Of the 47 accepted, 25 are female and 22 are male. Eight self-identify as Asian, four as Hispanic, one as Native American, two as unspecified, 37 as white and none as African American or Hawaiian Pacific Islander.

Of those offered residency, one student is in the Architecture School, one in the Education School, 26 in the College, one in both the College and the Education School, three in both the College and the Batten School, 10 in the Commerce School and five in the Engineering School. No students from the Nursing School were selected.

The mean GPA of selected students is 3.766 and the average GPA in selected students’ primary major is 3.832. The median overall GPA and median primary major GPA are 3.844 and 3.880, respectively.

The four most common majors among those accepted are Commerce (10 students), Economics (four students), Computer Science (three students), Public Policy (three students).
