Talkin' Tuesdays
What University student can think of a better way to spend his or her Tuesday evening than to spend it mingling with faculty members? This is the premise behind TuTTle Tuesdays. The program debuts tonight, at 7:30 p.m. in the Tuttle Coffee House.
Kris Wright, a fourth-year College student and senior resident of Tuttle House, worked with Residence Staff Area Coordinator Suzanne Harman to establish the new program.
Tonight's speaker is Dean of Students Penny Rue, who will speak about "How to Survive in College." A different member of the faculty will speak each Tuesday on a topic of their choosing.
Rue described her topic as "the combined wisdom of 20-some-odd years working with college students."
"I'm having fun with it," she said.
She added that the purpose behind TuTTle Tuesdays is to strengthen faculty and student interaction.
"Hopefully TuTTle Tuesdays is one of the ways to make that scene doable," Rue said.
Don't miss that drop
Those students undecided about which courses they actually want to deal with all semester and those they want to get over with as soon as possible need to make their decisions by the end of this week.
The drop deadline for the College, Architecture and Nursing schools is tomorrow. The add deadline for those schools is Friday.
Commerce, Education and Engineering students need to add any classes they are not currently enrolled in by the end of today, while they can continue to drop courses until October 12.
