Kaine is running for lieutenant governor on three issues. First, he wants to improve public schools and increase funding. Second, he wants to improve the economy with a targeted tax incentive program to help businesses. Third, he plans to improve public safety by expanding Virginia Exile, a program he helped implement in Richmond that imposes stiffer penalties for people caught with illegal weapons.
On the Issues
Higher education: Kaine believes all building projects already approved by the state should be fully funded and supports the tuition freeze.

Environment: He is against importing trash into the state and is concerned about population growth issues in Northern Virginia.
Car tax: Kaine supports the government in ending the car tax.
