Last weekend, the Virginia club croquet team traveled to Philadelphia to compete in the National Collegiate Croquet Championships. In the American Rules event, the Virginia doubles team of Jacques Fournier and Zach Rawling dominated with five straight wins. In the golf croquet singles event, Virginia's Steve Roberts, Kent Collier and Bo Buchanan also dominated, taking first, second and fourth respectively. The Virginia women's club tennis team completed its season Saturday with a 7-2 win over James Madison. Fourth years Maria Mier, Claire Shean and Kiersten Page, second years Courtenay Evans and Amy Shipley, and first year Maria Cristina Murguruza all had huge wins to help the team triumph. The win over JMU brought the team's spring season to a close with a record of 6-1, and brought the past two semesters to a close with a record of 11-2. The team also had a third place showing at the National Club Tennis Tournament.

The Virginia club softball team wrapped up its spring season by finishing third in the National Tournament in Ohio this past weekend. The team held the No. 1 seed throughout the tournament, and just barely missed taking home the championship trophy. First year Kaitlin Hurley held up the team with her strong bat, while fourth years Kate Corwin, Erin McDaniel, Emily Wilkinson, Melissa Polk and Kathy Robertson played stunning defense. Catcher Molly Geissenhainer was an essential part of the team throughout the tournament and the season. Pitching for the Wahoos this season were first years Stacy Adams and Jaime Wisegarver and graduate student Stacey Rose. The team looks forward to having Angela Sacra, Justine Gozzi, Kylie Catlin and Meg Johnson returning next year for another incredible season. With seven fourth years leaving, including Julie Liu and Lydia Cintron, the team will be on the lookout for new players this coming fall during tryouts. Much thanks goes out to coaches John Schneipp, Eric Shaffer and Tim Catlett for their hard work and dedication to the team.

On Sunday, the Virginia women's ultimate frisbee club team qualified for the national championships by finishing second in the Atlantic Coast region. Virginia beat UNC-Wilmington 12-11 to advance to the finals. The road to Nationals began with Virginia going 5-0 at the Blue Ridge Sectionals, against colleges in Virginia and Tennessee. At regionals, Virginia earned a bye into the semifinals by winning their pool (3-1) Saturday with a 15-8 win over Emory, a 15-0 win over Richmond, a 11-4 win over UNC-Wilmington and a 13-11 loss to UNC-Chapel Hill.

Virginia lost the finals to last year's national champions, Georgia.

The national championships will be held in Spokane, Wash., Memorial Day weekend.
