Virginia midfielder Nick Russo was named ACC men's lacrosse Player of the Week yesterday for his efforts in the Cavaliers' victory over Duke Saturday, the team's seventh victory in a row.

Russo, a senior from Port Jefferson, N.Y., tallied two goals and an assist against the Blue Devils in the Cavaliers' 15-10 victory that clinched the ACC regular season championship. It was the first multi-goal game of Russo's career.

Russo's first goal came with the Cavaliers protecting a one-goal lead. He dodged several Blue Devils in a run from midfield that ended with him beating Duke goalkeeper A.J. Kincel with a bouncer.

Wilkins traded to Rams

Former Virginia wide receiver Terrence Wilkins was traded to the St. Louis Rams from the Indianapolis Colts yesterday.
