Virginia pitcher/first baseman Kristen Dennis was named ACC softball player of the week for the third time this season Monday.
Dennis, a senior from Encinitas, Calif., finished with a 5-1 record as a pitcher last week, in addition to batting .500 in those games. She had a perfect 4-0 record in leading the Cavaliers to the Tar Heel Invitational title April 6 and 7. In addition to her gaudy batting average, she hit three doubles and two home runs and collected six RBIs.
