Freshman running back Wali Lundy was named ACC Rookie of the Week after carrying the ball 20 times for a team-high 94 yards. Lundy also had 20 yards receiving and 70 yards returning kickoffs in the team's loss to Colorado State last Thursday.
Lundy set a new school record for most rushing yards by a true freshman in his debut and came just short of tying the mark for all-purpose yards.
The highly-regarded back from Willingboro, N.J. carried the ball four times for 25 yards on the final drive as well. Lundy was an All-State wide receiver his junior year before switching over to running back. A consensus top-20 recruit at his position, Lundy rushed for 2,038 yards and 38 touchdowns his senior year.
