Three Cavaliers make ACC top 50 all-time male athletes list

Virginia swimmer Ed Moses (1998-2000), soccer star Claudio Reyna (1991-1993), and basketball legend Ralph Sampson (1980-1983) all made the ACC's 50th anniversary list of the top 50 male athletes in ACC history.

Moses, a gold medalist in the 2000 Olympics, holds the world record in the 400-medley relay and at one time held all three short course world records for the breaststroke. Moses also was the 2000 ACC swimmer of the year and Swimmer of the Championship in NCAA Championships that year.

Reyna won three national Player of the Year awards in two years and was named first team All-American each year he played at Virginia. He also was named Offensive MVP of the NCAA tournament two consecutive years.

A former Lawn resident, Sampson was a three-time national and ACC Player of the Year. Sampson is first in Virginia's all time rebound, field goals made and blocked shots lists, and led Virginia to a 112-23 record, a Final Four appearance, and an NIT championship in his time at Virginia.
