Virginia women take ACC swimming crown

The Cavaliers broke a three-year streak of second-place finishes, besting defending champion North Carolina by 101 points to take the school's fourth conference championship in the 25 years of ACC women's swimming.

Virginia emerged victorious in the three-day, 20-event meet thanks primarily to the efforts of its 11 All-ACC swimmers. This recognition is given to the first three finishers in each event.

Freshman Rachael Burke's time of 16 minutes 11.21 seconds was good enough for first place in the 1650 freestyle and Virginia's lone ACC champion from Saturday -
