Wrestling finishes ACC season with perfect record

Estimated reading time: 1 minutes

The Virginia wrestling team topped Maryland last night on the road, by a margin of 32-12, to finish their conference season with a perfect 4-0 record. Seven Cavalier wrestlers topped their opponents in the Virginia's final dual meet.

Virginia opened the meet with a 3-0 loss when senior Bob Seided fell at 141-pounds and a 3-2 loss when sophomore Paul Bjorlo fell at 149-pounds.

However, the Cavaliers went on to rebound. Defending ACC Champion Tim Foley -- who is currently ranked No. 11 in the country -- led the charge by earning a technical fall. Foley's victory was followed by another pair of wins from Will Durkee and Brian Muir.

Ram McDonnell lost the next bout when he was pinned in 49 seconds, but after that the Cavaliers were able to deny the Terrapins any more progress.
