Clarett controversy continues

The whirlwind of debate surrounding Ohio State's Maurice Clarett continues to swirl. As word break that the highly touted running back could miss the entirety of Ohio State's season, ESPN.com reports that Clarett's family is looking at all possible alternative options. Clarett's options include staying at Ohio State, transferring to another school or challenging the NFL's early entry rule.Clarett already has been suspended from practice by coach Jim Tressel and, on Tuesday, Ohio State Athletic Director Andy Geiger said on Tuesday that Clarett would be suspended for multiple games as a result of his having mislead investigators on possible violations of NCAA bylaws 10 and 12, which concern ethical behavior of student-athletes and amateurism."We put great stock, as does the NCAA, in forthrightness and straightforward answers," Geiger said.

However, Clarett family friend and Hall of Fame running back, Jim Brown stated on ESPNRadio's The Dan Patrick Show "[Geiger]'s really made it difficult for anyone on this side of the coin to believe he's a just person trying to do the right thing. He has a different agenda and I don't know what it is."
