Cavaliers host first rounds of NCAA Tournament

Virginia women's soccer was selected to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament at Klöckner Stadium this weekend. This is the 10th consecutive season that the Cavalier women were selected to compete in the NCAA tournament. In its opening round Friday Nov. 14, the Cavaliers will face off against Wililam & Mary, and Villanova will play Princeton.

The Cavaliers (12-5-2) will meet the Tribe (14-6-2) in a rematch of the Sept. 1 game at Klöckner, a 2-1 Virginia victory. The Cavaliers hope that the opportunity to play at home will bring a second victory against the Tribe.

"We have had very enthusiastic and supportive crowds this year and that has contributed to our success," Virginia coach Steve Swanson said. "Hopefully that can continue in the NCAA Tournament."

The times for Friday night's first round games and Sunday's second round game are yet to be announced.
