Trio of football players receive ACC accolades

Three Virginia players received individual accolades for their performances in Saturday's victory over rival Virginia Tech. The ACC handed out awards to senior quarterback Matt Schaub, sophomore tight end Heath Miller and freshman linebacker Kai Parham.

Schaub was named ACC Offensive Back of the Week, sharing the honor with Maryland's Bruce Perry. Schaub was instrumental in the Cavalier's win over the Hokies. He completed 32-of-46 passes for 358 yards. He also threw two touchdowns to the school's all-time mark of 55.

Schaub's favorite target of the afternoon was Miller, who reeled in 13 catches for 145 yards. His performance earned him ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week award for the second straight week. Miller has had a record setting season, including the ACC tight end mark for catches with 66.

Parham took home Rookie of the Week honors, as the Cavaliers limited the Hokies to 151 yards rushing and 365 yards of total offense. He had six solo tackles-- two of which were for negative yardage.
