Cavalier Daily Associate Editor Bayless Parsley conducted an exclusive phone interview with British streaker Mark Roberts, who introduced himself to America when he recorded his 373rd career streak during halftime of Super Bowl XXXVIII. Having purchased a replica NFL referee outfit and then re-tailoring it to include Velcro, Roberts jogged onto the field before kickoff and stripped. He was apprehended by Houston police after Patriots' player Mike Chatham knocked him to the turf, but only after having performed Riverdance and the moonwalk for 70,000 fans.
Q: How in the world are you able to afford all these tickets and fines?
A: [For the Super Bowl,] I'd been saving for 12 months, bought me ticket in advance, paid for me flight over, bought me referee's uniform over the Internet and had it specially remade with Velcro.
Q: How have sponsors helped you out?
A: I don't get paid to streak. Goldenpalace.com donates to me favorite charity after every streak I do. I mainly subsist off of commercials and billboard campaigns in Europe.
Q: Were you surprised by the treatment given to you by the Houston cops?
A: The cops were great. I was signing autographs
