Cavaliers to play at Villanova in NIT second round contest tomorrow

The Virginia men's basketball team faces the Villanova Wildcats in second round NIT action Saturday in Villanova, Pa.

The Cavaliers defeated George Washington University, 79-66, Wednesday en route to their second straight appearance in the tournament's second round.

Last season Virginia was eliminated in the second round to eventual tournament champion St. John's University, 73-63.

The Cavaliers lead the all-time series with the Wildcats, 4-1. The first round of the 1992 NIT marks the last time the two teams met, with Virginia coming away with a 83-80 victory on the road.

Tip-off is set for 11 a.m., and ESPN2 will televise the game. If the Cavaliers win, they will face the winner of the West Virginia/Rhode Island and Rutgers game March 24.
