Volleyball takes two of three matches at Louisville tournie

The Cavaliers fell to host No. 23 Louisville on Friday, but bounced back to defeat Jacksonville State and Loyola on Saturday at the University of Louisville Courtyard by Marriot Tournament this weekend.

In Friday's opening match, the Cavaliers took the first game 31-29 but Louisville pulled the momentum back in their direction with a 30-20 triumph in the second game. The Cardinals won the last two to clinch the match 30-28 and 30-25. Outside hitter Sarah Kirkwood registered a career-high 28 kills in the loss.

Virginia lost the first game against Jacksonville State 31-29 but reeled off victories in their next six games to win the remaining two matches, finishing off the Gamecocks (30-20, 30-25, 30-26) and sweeping Loyola (30-18, 30-21, 30-24).
