Raab qualifies for 2005 National Meet

Virginia senior Michael Raab was named ACC swimmer of the week on Monday. The award comes on the heels of Raab's sixth place finish in the 200-meter butterfly at the 2004 FINA World Championships at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Raab, a three-time ACC champion in the event, finished with a time of 1:54.95 in the finals. His time secures him a spot at the 2005 NCAA Championship. Raab's time also broke the 200-meter butterfly short course record of 1:54.97, set by Texas' Kendrick Rainer. Raab was ranked second heading into the finals with a qualifying time of 1:55.05 and was the only collegian to qualify for the finals.
