Virginia swimming places second, sixth at meet

The Virginia men's swimming and diving team earned a second place finish at the Boilermaker Challenge on Saturday, posting a strong performance against three nationally ranked teams from across the country.

The women's team also had a solid showing at the meet, finishing sixth in a field of eight ranked teams.

The 10th ranked Cavalier men's team won eight individual events at the meet, including three by junior Fran Crippen.

On the women's side, the Cavaliers were led by the performances of juniors Rachael Burke, who finished fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle, and Elaine Bennett, who took fifth the 200-yard butterfly.
