Men's Lacrosse begins season ranked sixth in preseason Top 20 poll

Despite finishing a disappointing 5-8 last season, Virginia enters the 2005 campaign once again ranked in the top 10 nationally.

Virginia head coach Dom Starsia returns 27 lettermen as well as eight starters. The Cavaliers will face four of the top five teams in the country: Johns Hopkins (No. 1), Syracuse (No. 2), Maryland (No. 4) and North Carolina (No. 5). Virginia's third ACC opponent, Duke, is also ranked in the top 15.

The Cavaliers went 2-3 against the ACC last season en route to their first losing season in 17 years.
