Women's Tennis dominates in-state rival Old Dominion

Freshman Diana Srebrovic and junior Douglas Wink led the No. 52 Virginia Cavaliers to a 7-0 shutout victory over Old Dominion at Boar's Head Sports Club Saturday night. The Cavaliers improved their season record to 2-1.

The doubles pair of Srebrovic and Wink, ranked No. 23 nationally, defeated the Old Dominion pair of Kerstin Endlich and Fernanda Luiz, 8-5. Virginia's doubles pair of sophomore Caroline Hammond and freshman Lindsey Pereira cemented the doubles point for Virginia with a 9-8 victory over the Lady Monarchs' Barbara Kerner and Linda Garder.

In singles play junior Lori Stern won by injury default. Srebrovic and Wink won their matches at No. 1 and No. 2 in straight sets to clinch the match for the Cavaliers. Srebrovic is currently ranked No. 67 in singles. In addition Pereira and senior Marta Bechliwanis added straight set singles victories. Lastly, junior Kristen James ensured the sweep for Virginia with a victory at No. 3 in the superbreaker.
