Incoming freshman Crawford cleared to play for Cavaliers

Virginia football recruit Kevin Crawford, a 6'3", 275-pound defensive lineman from Woodbridge, Va., will be admitted to Virginia this summer pending NCAA Clearinghouse approval, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported Wednesday.

Crawford described his academic standing as "a little shaky," but said he had been told to report to U. Va. on July 6.

The incoming freshman has been playing football for only two years but is listed as the country's 58th best defensive tackle by Scout.com. Crawford was also ranked as the 25-th best player in Virginia by Rivals.com
