Each week, The Cavalier Daily asks a student 25 questions and allows him or her to eliminate five of them. This week's interviewee is Steve Mack, a third-year Medieval Studies major from "just down the road" in Chantilly, Va.
Q: If you could live on any one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Roast Beef sandwiches from Arby's.
Q: What kind of sense of humor do you have?
A: I'd say pretty open. I'm sarcastic.
Q: Why is it still so hot?
A: I think it's fantastic. I hate winter.
Q: What is your favorite annual event?
A: Thanksgiving. I celebrate it at home. It's one of the few times a year you can actually eat turkey.
Q: When was the last time you got a letter in the mail?
A: Maybe last year. I think it was a birthday card from my grandmother. There was a check for five dollars inside with my name spelled wrong.
Q: Do you drink whole, reduced fat or skim milk?
A: I'm a 2% fan myself. Whatever is cheapest. Kroger brand -- I don't know, I'm not much of a milk connoisseur.
Q: What time did you go to sleep last night?
A: Around 1:30 [a.m.]. Sunday nights are exceptions though.
Q: When is the next time you'll see family?
A: Probably reading break. Chantilly is only about two hours away.
Q: When are you able to get the most work done?
A: I'm a night person, so between 11:30 [p.m.] and whenever I get my work done.
Q: If you could be any kind of Olympic athlete, what would you want to be?
A: I think I'd be a sprinter.
Q: Favorite Disney song?
A: The theme from "Aladdin."
Q: What did you eat for lunch?
A: I actually ate at the Sbarro's in the new O'Hill. It was pretty good. I didn't even know it was there.
Q: On a scale of one to 10, how good are you at keeping secrets?
A: About a nine I think. Though if it's worth telling, I'll tell it.
Q: Which is the better "Kill Bill?"
A: Definitely the first one. The second was too slow.
Q: How often do you read The Cavalier Daily?
A: Whenever I can find it.
Q: Does anyone care that professional hockey is back?
A: I doubt it. I don't.
Q: If you could hop a plane anywhere right now, where would you go?
A: Belgium. It just seems like a good place. I saw "EuroTrip" and got inspired.
Q: How will President Bush respond to increasing public opposition to the war in Iraq?
A: Take a vacation at his ranch.
Q: What is your biggest guilty music pleasure?
A: I'm a big fan of Tiffany.
The Verdict: I sweated through my shirt doing this interview. With all due respect to southerners and their fear of snow, it's time for hockey weather. Of course, like Steve, I certainly won't be watching.
