No. 12 singles player Somdev Devvarman defended his title in the fall invitational tennis tournament hosted by Virginia this weekend.
Devvarman topped No. No. 8 ranked Arnaud Lecloerec 6-3, 6-3 in the semi-finals of the A flight and then knocked off No. 26 ranked Luigi D'Agord 7-6, 6-3 for the tournament title. Devvarman's win comes in the most competitive draw in the tournament's history with 20 nationally ranked players.
The Cavaliers' two most successful doubles teams fell in the semi-finals to higher ranked teams.
