Cavalier Sidelights

Best Concentration

Emmanuel Byars' 28-yard catch on third and 16 that went through defensive back Roger Williams' hands on Virginia's first offensive drive.

Best Use of Feet

The play after Byars' catch, Jonathan Stupar snagged a 21-yard touchdown after Hagans scrambled to keep the play alive and found the tight end on the right sideline of the end zone.

Most Despised Scene

The tomahwak chant by the Seminole fans after FSU scores and the 'NOLES' flags that were displayed in the endzone.

Best Sight

Watching Ahmad Brooks leap frog the FSU offensive line on third and three on the Seminoles' second offensive possession.

Worst Sight

Watching Lorenzo Booker rumble for a 58-yard 'Nole touchdown on the same play.

Craziest Play-Calling

There were three pass plays Saturday when someone other than Marques Hagans passed the ball. Byars tossed two, and Lundy threw one. All three passes incomplete.

Sweet First Game

Freshmen wide-receivers Maurice Covingto and Kevin Ogletree, and defensive end Alex Field each played in the first games of their career Saturday.

Can you say Déjavu?

The Cavalier faithful rushed the field almost 10 years to the day since they last stormed the field after Virginia's last victory over FSU in 1995.

Quoteboard

-- Al Groh on Hagans' hamstring strain in the first half

"I kept waiting for [Al Groh] to quit throwing. ... When's he going to hand off the ball, and somebody's going to run? Al wouldn't do it because the kid was as hot as a firecracker."

-- Bobby Bowden on the 59 passing attempts called by Virginia coach Al Groh

"If I had a vote, he'd be number one."

-- Punter Chris Gould on Connor Hughes' chances for winning the Groza Award, given annually to the nation's top kicker

"It was lovely... [The fans] got a chance to rush the field, even though they were told not to. I love to see that; I hope they do it again."

-- Quarterback Marques Hagans
