Crippen earns weekly honor

Virginia swimmer Fran Crippen was named ACC Men's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week yesterday. Crippen took the 500 and 1000 freestyles and powered the Cavaliers to one-two finishes in the two events. This is the eighth time in his career Crippen has garnered the award. The Conshohocken, Pa. native also placed second in the 200 individual medley. Despite Crippen's strong showing, Virginia was sunk by the University of Florida to open the 2005-2006 season.
