Cavalier women's golf lands third place finish in Landfall Tradition tournament Sunday

The Virginia women's golf team continued its fall schedule with a third-place finish in the Landfall Tradition Sunday.

Purdue placed first and ACC rival Wake Forest beat out the Cavaliers for second place.

Virginia fired rounds of 304, 299 and 303, earning a final tally of 906. The Cavaliers were 42 strokes over par, 29 strokes behind the Boilermakers.

Leah Wigger led Virginia with 2-over par 218 in three rounds. Her performance was good for third overall individually.

The Cavaliers' final tournament of the fall season will take place at the Derby Invitational in Auburn, Al. this weekend.
