Stanford, easy money, back on this week's slate

What are you going to do at 10:30 tonight? The answer, unfortunately, is no longer watching a new episode of Two-a-Days. The season came to an end last week, and I have a few lingering questions, as I'm sure a lot of people do.

First, what happened to Bryan? He's featured in the main Two-a-Days graphic (No. 74) and was profiled in one of the first shows -- then he completely disappeared, never to be heard from again. Couldn't we at least have gotten some kind of an update about his whereabouts?

And what about Goose, is he that insufferable in real life? I feel like there could be some selective editing in play here on MTV's part, but if there was ever a guy who needed to be taken down a peg or two, it was Goose.

Then there's Repete. Doesn't the idea of Repete going back to his old neighborhood to find his roots seem a little ridiculous considering he was wearing a $65 Ralph Lauren polo shirt at the time? Probably the most disappointing part of the show was that we didn't find out about the gold mine that is Repete's dad (Pete, hence the nickname) until toward the end of the season.

At 2-2-1 last week, I'm just treading water until the next big week, which could be this week -- I like these picks.

Arizona State -23 vs. Stanford

The Cardinal is back after a one-week hiatus. As reported a few weeks ago, some Vegas sportsbooks were considering taking Temple's games off the books -- realistically, they should have been considering dropping the Cardinal too. Since we last tabled Stanford, the starting QB was knocked out for the year, and they didn't advance the ball past midfield against Arizona. Arizona State can show up at halftime, spend the first ten minutes of the third quarter leafing through the media guide, then start playing, and they'll still beat this spread.

Rutgers +6.5 at Pittsburgh

I have been saying for about a month now that Rutgers' first loss would come at Pitt. But I also expected the line to be closer to five points, leaving me with a tough choice.

I think Rutgers can keep this game close. What I am most afraid of is a repeat of last year's Insight Bowl
