Letter from the editors

Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta. Slash editor. We've been at the helm for a year now, and this issue is our last.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

tableau has gone through a lot of changes in the past year, and we hope that we have been able to represent in our section those that have affected Charlottesville's A&E scene.

Our goals when we first came into power (muah ha ha), were to include more local content and cover a wider variety of interests. We feel we've done a good job.

Hopefully you think the same thing.

We'd like to thank our associate editors, who put in almost as much time and effort as we did. Jeannette Williams was a steady, meticulous copyeditor and regularly found mistakes that slipped under our radar. Tyler Zang compiled each week's calendar in a thoughtful, informative way. We really appreciate you guys.

We'd also like to mention the people who will be replacing us -- Jeannette Williams and Case Blackwell. We feel they are competent, motivated and hip enough to fill our shoes. (Our Converse shoes.)

Big ups to our staff, which has grown exponentially. As one of the only sections of the paper requiring regular meetings, we are constantly impressed with their dedication and interest.

(If you'd like to join the fun, email ae@cavalierdaily.com.)

Cheers to Laura Hammett, P-STU and the rest of the production staff for the cutouts and late-night alterations. We'd like to thank Jessica Black for helping with the tableau design overhaul.

Thanks also to our parents, faithful friends who pick up the Thursday paper just for our section and the rest of The Cavalier Daily for their love and support.
