Name that sport

A NATIONAL Football League running back was once quoted as saying: "I want to rush for 1,000 to 1,500 yards, whichever comes first." There is similarity in that pearl of wisdom to the National Basketball Association star center who reportedly couldn't remember if he visited the Parthenon when he was in Greece, because, "I can't really remember the names of the clubs that we went to."

Sports stars say some interesting things. That's one reason why sports reporting can be highly readable.

Newspaper sports departments have long been referenced as "toy factories," because sports reporters writers are generally having fun writing about people and the games they play. But good sports writers are good writers
