The 59th Primetime Emmys
Ryan Seacrest hosted the 59th Primetime Emmys Sept. 17. As usual, some of the winners were expected and others were not. Ricky Gervais of the British "The Office" won for his comedic-skit show "Extras;" Jeremy Piven picked up Best Actor in a Comedy; Dame Helen Mirren received an Emmy for her role in "Prime Suspect: The Final Act;" and Katherine Heigl won supporting actress in a drama for her role in "Grey's Anatomy."
And the winner is...
After all of the hype generated by the Kanye/50 Cent album-sales race, the winner is Kanye by a landslide. With the highest Billboard's 200 rating in the last 2 years, West sold 957,000 albums in the first 6 days. Fiddy on the other hand sold only 691,000. Only time will tell if West will make 50 a sore loser.

Wilson to McConaughey
Talk about your touchy replacements. After Owen Wilson's recent hospitalization for a reported suicide attempt, Wilson has been switched out for Mathew McConaughey in the upcoming comedy Tropic Thunder. The flick, which sports such big names as Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte, Bill Hader and Steve Coogan, is directed by and features long-time friend Ben Stiller.
