Virginia ousts Longwood

he Virginia women's basketball team won its season opener against Longwood 62-49 Saturday night. In her official debut as a Cavalier, junior center Aisha Mohammed led all scorers with 16 points. Sophomore guard Enongé Stovall also put in a solid performance, scoring 10 points and garnering 10 rebounds.

Longwood made a run late in the game, cutting the lead to five with just over seven minutes left. The Cavaliers, however, managed to hold off the Lancers and nab their first win of the season.

The Cavaliers play host to No. 13 George Washington tonight at JPJ at 7 p.m.
