The Virginia women's swim and dive team brought home the 2008 ACC Championship crown this past weekend, capturing their first title since 2004 and their sixth all-time.
Virginia blew the competition out of the water, tallying 800 points in the course of the three-day meet. The defending conference champion and this year's runner-up, North Carolina, finished with 572. Florida State came in third with 544.5, while Virginia Tech posted 362.
The Cavaliers also return to Charlottesville with three individual titles and three relay titles. Freshman Liz Shaw was crowned the ACC Champion in the 200 Fly, and her winning time of 1:56.07 broke the conference record she set during a dual meet earlier this season. Freshman Hannah Davis, junior Megan Evo and seniors Stephanie Glover and Jessica Lewis combined to capture first place in the 400 free relay. With a winning time of 3:18.69, the foursome set a new conference record.
