Abortion facts

I am writing in response to Katie McBeth’s article (“Bra-shopping for birth control,” Oct. 29) concerning the pill, Plan B, which she falsely claims is not an abortion pill. Contrary to her first statement that the pill is not abortion, she later asserts that Plan B “[lessens] the likelihood that an egg will implant in the uterine wall.” Obviously, if this is the case, than Plan B does in fact result in the destruction of a fertilized embryo by preventing the zygote from surviving. If any woman is concerned about the moral consequences of using contraceptives, don’t do it! It leads to emotions of guilt and regret. Women who use Plan B must live with the uncertainty of never truly knowing whether or not they have killed an unborn child. I would also like to point out that there is life after pregnancy, regardless of what society attempts to portray. Adoption is such a beautiful gift for married couples in need of children. The adoptive parents are fulfilled, the child is alive, and you have protected the dignity of human life. All parties are satisfied.
