I have a boyfriend. Can I say it any louder? I HAVE A BOYFRIEND! He is cute and sweet and incredibly wonderful, and I'll talk about him for hours to anyone who will listen - namely other girls with boyfriends, who will only listen to me if I sit and listen to them talk about their boyfriends afterward. Thanks, Stephanie.
My new boyfriend is cause for celebration not because he is one of the few boys to like me - although thanks for thinking that - but because I've found it hard during the past two years, to navigate the U.Va. dating scene to figure out which guys are simply meant to be no more than friends with benefits (see: hookup buddy) and which ones are boyfriend material. There was nothing but free time. I would bake in the morning, call to say I had some fresh desserts and be at their place by the afternoon. Easy as that.
I also thought I could trick Ryan into going on a date by inviting him over to eat dinner with me. "I'm dying to try this new recipe," I said. "But it serves four and I just know the food will go bad if someone doesn't help me eat it."
So, he agreed to come for dinner and I cooked all day: linguine with ricotta cheese, saut
