The Virginia field hockey team is off to its best start since 1979, improving to 10-0 this weekend with home wins against Boston University and No. 9 Boston College.
"The last couple of years [coach] Michele [Madison] has been here, she has done a really good job in building a strong team that is one of the best in the country," sophomore midfielder Paige Selinski said. "I give her a lot of credit."
The Cavaliers (10-0, 1-0 ACC) opened the weekend with a 2-0 victory against Boston University (3-7), a team they lost to last season 3-2 on penalty strokes. Coincidentally, Virginia's current goalkeeper - junior Kim Katsuk, who transferred to Virginia this past offseason - was the Terrier goalkeeper responsible for the Cavaliers' loss.
