The spring semester traditionally promises two things to Virginia students: good weather and great athletics. Though Mother Nature is not exactly meeting expectations so far in 2010, the athletics part promises to hold up its end of the bargain. If you haven't already made your plans for Spring Break by now, I'm sure you're scrambling to find things to do the week of March 7-13, but there are a few dates you ought to mark on the calendar before you depart for the destination of your choice. Here are three can't-miss games during the month of February.

Baseball home opener - Feb. 24, 3 p.m., vs. George Washington\nThe Cavaliers start the season ranked No. 2 in the nation after a tremendous 2009 campaign that brought the team to the College World Series for the first time in school history. Virginia has a great chance to go back to Omaha this year, with the entire starting lineup returning from last year's run, along with a solid pitching staff led by second-team Preseason All-American, sophomore Danny Hultzen.\nThe team opens the season this Friday at No. 11 East Carolina for a three-game weekend series, and its first home game will be Feb. 24, a Wednesday afternoon contest against George Washington. The matchup against the Colonials will begin a nine-game homestand that will keep the Cavaliers in Charlottesville through March 7, when Virginia hosts Dartmouth and Wright State in a doubleheader.

Men's lacrosse home opener - Feb. 27, 3 p.m., vs. Stony Brook\nThe Cavaliers start the season ranked No. 3 in the nation after a tremendous 2009 campaign that brought the team to the NCAA semifinals in their quest for the program's fifth NCAA championship. Virginia has a great chance to get back to the Final Four this year, returning six starters including senior Ken Clausen, a candidate for the 2010 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.\nThe team opens the season this Saturday at Drexel, and their first home game will be Feb. 27 in a Saturday afternoon contest against Stony Brook. The matchup against the Seawolves will begin a three-game homestand that will keep the Cavaliers in Charlottesville through March 9, when Virginia hosts VMI.\nIf any of this sounds familiar, it's because the baseball and men's lacrosse teams have a lot in common this year, and both have the potential to join the men's soccer team and earn national championships. Apart from just going to games to have fun and cheer on the Cavaliers, you'll be seeing some of the best teams in their respective sports in Virginia history, so you owe it to yourself to make it out to these games.\nEven before the lacrosse game, the baseball team will be playing at 1 p.m. against Rhode Island. So, you can check out the first few innings at Davenport Field, and make the 30-second walk to Kl
