Happy b-Earth-day

Student organizations come together to raise awareness about sustainability, Earth Day

Smog and pollutants and plastics and litter and toxins and oil spills and pesticides and ... Well, the planet certainly isn't getting any cleaner.

In a combined effort to inform the University community about recycling initiatives and decrease the area's carbon footprint, the University Unity Project and the Student Council Environmental Initiatives Committee is in the midst of hosting Earth Week on Grounds.

The week, which began April 15 and runs until April 22, is intended to promote environmental consciousness and sustainability among community members. This is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and more than 40 events are planned from Sunday through Thursday alone. Each day will focus on a different theme, beginning with Outdoors, Energy, Academics, Transportation and Food, respectively.
