Love Connection

Will an ex-girlfriend break up this date?

Daniel\nFourth-year College Student

Major: Biochemistry and biology\nWhat are you involved in at U.Va.? I'm senior resident of a first-year dorm, I'm on the women's basketball team as a scout player and I am a member of the Virginia Glee Club (taking a semester off from that currently though).\nWhat else do you like to do? Hobbies? I really just love people! I love meeting and talking to new and random people and have wanted to do this for a while! My hobby is making people feel good about themselves, and I'm pretty good at it!\nDescribe your ideal date. My ideal date would start by waking up in the south of France, spending some time in Nice with the vendors. Next would be a quick jet ride to Venice, where we would have an early dinner prepared by world-renowned chefs. Then we'd hop back on the jet, catch a concert in London with some friends that we'd meet there. After the show, we'd obviously be invited to the after-party, so we'd make an appearance, then grab our final flight over to the coast of Spain or Morocco and fall asleep listening to the waves. Dancing would take place wherever applicable, too ... OR I'd really like to go to dinner on Charlottesville's famed "Corner" with someone new and interesting. It's a tie.\nIf you could date any celebrity, who would it be and why? Oprah. Talk about connections! Even after we split. I'm sure we'd still be friends.\nWhat's a typical weekend like for you? Do you party? Drink? Smoke? I like to go out with my friends early in the weekend. I drink. Never smoke.\nDo you work out or play sports? How important is physical fitness in your life? I love to be active in sports, like frisbee or basketball. I could play all day. However, I don't just run for the fun of it. I have started working out about 30 minutes a day, but that's only when I actually get free time. So as to how important it is, it's low on the priorities list, but I'm still above average on the athletic scale.\nWhat are your favorite TV shows? "The Office," "How I Met Your Mother," "Scrubs" and MANY more. I don't actually watch TV though, I just get the seasons on DVD.\nWhat are your favorite movies/actors? Favorite movie quote? So many great actors: Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, John Cusack, Don Cheadle, George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Connery, Robin Williams, Denzel Washington and many others I'm sure I forgot. I really enjoy most movies just for the visual experience. "The Notebook" and "What Dreams May Come" are two that come to mind, but only because they are epic love stories. There are many other epic movies as well.\nWhat music do you listen to? Again, I like all music except for country. But I still do enjoy a few, specific country songs. I like any music that adequately expresses emotion, and then whatever mood I'm in is what I'll listen to. I like to dance, so anything with rhythm. I also like a lot of "emo" stuff and the people who listen to emo, too.\nDescribe the best five minutes of your life. Being born.\nSell yourself. What makes you a good catch? I'd like to think that I'm a good height, athletic, quick to laugh, have a good sense of humor, competitively good at almost everything I try, confident, down-to-earth, rational, logical, intelligent, I make people feel good about themselves. I'm sure that everyone has things they look for, so am I good for everyone? Probably not ... But I'm close.\nWhat would you want your date to have in common with you? Religion? Hobbies? Dance skills? A love for life is all that I ask! Haha, I figure that covers most important things.\nWhat would your theme song be? Why? Picking one song to never get sick of ever? Sounds difficult, I think I'd pick something instrumental and easy to listen to. Something that was almost imperceptible but would always get stuck in people's heads ... in a good way.\nTell a joke. What's your idea of funny? My sense of humor is almost completely based in the situation. I have a quick wit, so I think well on my feet. It makes me great for things like, oh, I don't know, blind dates and such.\nWhat do you want to do when you graduate? I hope to get into an MD/PhD program. That's the "win" scenario.\nWhat's your favorite part about U.Va.? The people are my favorite! My least favorite is all the crime that's been happening.\nHow would your biggest enemy describe you? "Oh that guy? He's all right. I can't really say anything bad about him. I mean ...
