Self-regulation, not federal regulation, will be the key to American success

AS THE federal debt has spiraled out of control, bringing the failures of the welfare state into sharp relief, the American people have reacted with widespread animosity towards government. Although discontent with the state is certainly justified, what many Americans have failed to consider is that our national shortcomings reflect our personal ones. Our bloated, wasteful, irresponsible national government directly mirrors the type of people that we have become.
