Cavs cruise past foes at Princeton Chase

A week after collecting a Championship Eight victory at the prestigious Head of the Charles event, the Virginia women's rowing team secured two wins at the Princeton Chase Sunday.

In the premier Varsity Eight race, Virginia's top boat crossed the finish line at the 14:35.17 to down all other competition, including a talented hosting Princeton unit which claimed second place. The Cavaliers' B and C boats also cracked the top 10 with 15:29.56 and 15:32.29 finishing times, respectively, on the nearly three-mile-long course.

Later that afternoon during the Novice Eight event, the Cavaliers put forth a dominant performance against a field of 18 boats. Virginia secured a first-place finish by defeating runner-up Cornell by an impressive 25-second margin.

Now with several quality wins under their belts, the Cavaliers return home to host the Rivanna Romp Nov. 13 at the Rivanna Reservoir.
