Declaration newsmagazine to print every other week

The managing board of The Declaration, a weekly newsmagazine at the University, announced yesterday that it will only be able to print editions of the paper every two weeks instead of every week as it continues to face financial constraints.

"The truth is, we simply can't afford to print a brand new issue every single week of the semester," an article in this week's issue of The Declaration stated.

Third-year College student Caroline Rayner, executive editor of The Declaration, said the magazine will instead put similar content online during weeks when no print edition is released.

Rayner said the managing board made the decision Sunday, after Rayner had consulted the magazine's previous editor.

The managing board hopes to ultimately restore the publication to its regular weekly edition.

"We're doing our best to raise more funds by selling advertisements," Rayner said. "We haven't totally decided what we're doing for fundraising, but we're definitely brainstorming."
