The Cavaliers pushed back with three straight wins to open the singles. Epstein dropped No. 91 King by a 6-3, 6-1 final score at No. 5 singles before No. 16 Nauta topped Shaffer 6-4, 6-3 on court three.

Morton pulled out a second-set tiebreaker to deal No. 83 Garcia a 6-3, 7-6 (10-8) win on court four.

Georgia cut the deficit to 3-2 when No. 19 Herring defeated No. 1 Elbaba 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, but No. 42 Collins clinched the match in Virginia’s favor when she prevailed against Perez at No. 2, coming back from a set down for a 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 win.
