Senior catcher Katie Park had two RBIs in Virginia's 3-2 win over Georgia Tech Saturday.

In the last conference series that Virginia would host this season, the Cavaliers (16-29, 5-13 ACC) picked up two wins against Georgia Tech to claim the series.

The first game resulted in a 10-5 win for the Yellow Jackets (13-30, 6-12 ACC) Friday, marking the third-straight loss for the Cavaliers. Although Virginia had a 2-1 lead for the first three innings, the Yellow Jackets opened up an 8-2 lead over the Cavaliers after a seven-run inning in the fourth. In the bottom of the sixth, senior designated-player McKall Miller and sophomore pitcher Lacy Smith each hit solo home runs for Virginia. However, they weren’t enough to close in on Georgia Tech’s lead. Smith also had a big night from the mound — pitching for a season-high six strikeouts in under three and a half innings.

On Saturday, Virginia rebounded from the previous day’s loss with a thrilling 3-2 win over the Yellow Jackets. The Cavaliers’ offense was led by junior outfielder Allison Davis, who hit three-for-four, and senior catcher Katie Park, who picked up two RBIs. Senior third-baseman Kaitlin Fitzgerald also played a big role in the offense by getting an RBI single to drive in Park for the walk-off win. From the pitcher’s mound, sophomore pitcher Erika Osherow threw all seven innings and gave up just two unearned runs in her 10th win of the season.

In the deciding game of the series, the Cavaliers defeated the Yellow Jackets, 4-2. Junior first-baseman Danni Ingraham’s got her sixth home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth — driving in three runs and giving Virginia the lead. Park, who had three hits and scored one run, was also a big factor in helping the Cavaliers win their first ACC series of the season.

Virginia now stays in Charlottesville to host Georgetown on Tuesday evening, and then will hit the road for a weekend series at Notre Dame.
