Hoos on First: Grant Kersey and bold predictions

Episode 1 kicks off Season 2 with Virginia basketball senior student manager Grant Kersey as hosts Alex Maniatis and Nick Martindale interview him and make predictions for the upcoming basketball season

Hoos on First returns for its first episode of season two as hosts Nick Martindale and Alex Maniatis deliver their hot takes for the upcoming basketball season and recap key statistics and plays of the past week in Virginia sports.

This week’s episode features an exclusive interview with Virginia basketball fan-favorite senior student manager Grant Kersey, who joins Martindale and Maniatis in discussing predictions for the basketball team for the upcoming season and changes the team will have to adjust to following the departures of Kyle Guy, Ty Jerome and De’Andre Hunter.

Kersey also shares his personal experiences as a basketball team manager, his behind-the-scenes perspective on Coach Tony Bennett and his thoughts on new members to the team this year.

After bouncing back from two straight losses against Notre Dame and Miami, the Virginia football team appeared to get back on track with a victory against Duke last Saturday. Despite the win, the hosts go in-depth to point out areas of improvement for the team.
