Burglary reported in 100 block of Madison Lane

No weapons, threats or injuries have been reported at this time

 After coming into contact with the homeowner, the suspect fled in an unknown direction. 

A resident in the 100 block of Madison Lane reported an unknown male in their home at approximately 3:44 a.m. Monday, per a community alert sent by Timothy Longo, chief of University Police Department and vice president for security and safety. After coming into contact with the homeowner, the suspect fled in an unknown direction. 

The suspect was described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black Pittsburgh Steelers jersey with the number 10 and carrying a white trash bag. 

No weapons, threats or injuries have been reported at this time. 

This is the fifth community alert of September and the second burglary of the month. There was another burglary in late August, where an unknown suspect stole three bottles of wine from Pavillion III. 

Community alerts are shared via email to the University community when there is timely information about a threat that can be released to the community without compromising any ongoing investigations. Timely Warnings are issued when there is an ongoing threat to the community.
