Archivist Report on the Nov. 13, 2022 shooting

Archivist Grace Franklin compiles coverage of the deadly Nov. 13 shooting

Editor’s Note: Please note that many of these pieces include details from the Nov. 13 shooting and references of gun violence that may be upsetting for some readers.

This is a collection of articles The Cavalier Daily published following the shooting that took place on Grounds on Nov. 13, 2022 which claimed the lives of D’Sean Perry, Lavel Davis Jr. and Devin Chandler. Marlee Morgan and Mike Hollins were also injured. Some of these articles are direct coverage of the shooting and the aftermath. Others are stories with a more peripheral connection, but I believe this collection reflects the ways in which the tragedy marked Grounds permanently, and continued to shape and affect our coverage in the months following. On the one-year anniversary since Nov. 13, we remember and honor D’Sean, Lavel and Devin.

We will continue to update this report.
