2024 Elections — live updates and results

Follow along for updates about the four elections on Charlottesville’s ballot, as well as turnout at nearby polling locations

Today is Election Day! Check below for live updates on the presidential, U.S. Senate and Virginia’s 5th congressional district races, as well as voter turnout at University-area polling locations.


1:46 p.m. — The polling location at Slaughter Recreation Center has received 775 votes, according to election officials. 

1:22 p.m. —  The City of Charlottesville’s Voter Registration and Elections Office released turnout numbers for locations across the city. As of 1 p.m., the total turnout across the city was 6,182, accounting for 19.3 percent of active registered voters. The number does not include provisional votes or absentee ballots.

1:05 p.m. — The Venable polling location at Trailblazer Elementary School has received 675 votes and 299 provisional ballots, according to election officials. The location had received 235 votes at 9 a.m., according to the City of Charlottesville’s Voter Registration and Elections Office.

11:18 a.m. — The polling location at Slaughter Recreation Center has now received 527 votes, according to election officials. This number does not include provisional ballots.

11:07 a.m. — The polling location at the University’s Miller Center has received 202 votes, according to election officials. This number does not include provisional ballots.

10:08 a.m. —  The polling location at Slaughter Recreation Center has received 352 votes, according to election officials. This number does not include provisional ballots.
