“Ride Board Eases Travel Difficulties”

To help students who needed a ride or to connect those who wanted company on their drive home, Alpha Phi Omega sponsored the creation of this “Ride Board” for Thanksgiving Break. Students simply had to post a note on the board to find another person who was headed in the same direction!

The day before Thanksgiving in 1981, the University was gifted with its first snow of the year! Of course, students were quick to take advantage of the snow and build a snowman on the beautiful, snow-covered Grounds!

The University’s basketball team joined the 13th Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage over Thanksgiving break in 1990. Though a bit different from the Charlottesville climate and the University culture, this student writer found lots to enjoy during his visit to Anchorage!
