Police seek information on Wednesday shooting in Albemarle County

Albemarle County Police do not have a description of the suspect who remains at large

The shooting took place in Albemarle County on the 900 block of Upper Brook Court about three miles from Central Grounds.

The Albemarle County Police Department is seeking information on a shooting that took place early Wednesday around midnight on the 900 block of Upper Brook Court, about three miles from Central Grounds. According to the press release sent out Thursday, first responders, including the ACPD and Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to the shooting.

The victim is a 19 year-old male who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg but is stable and being treated at the University Medical Center. There is no suspect at this time, and ACPD Public Information Officer Logan Bogert said there is no description of a suspect to provide to the public, and that no additional information will be available unless an arrest is made.

ACPD also said in a press release that there is no threat to the public at this time as the shooting is an isolated incident.
