	The Virginia volleyball team is 6-0 to start a season for the first time since 2003, and junior middle hitter Natalie Bausback, the tournament MVP of both the Cavalier Classic and the Marshall Thunder Invitational, is a big reason why.

	Sophomore striker Riley Tata scored Virginia’s first goal Sunday against No. 7 Princeton and, along with sophomore striker Caleigh Foust, leads the Cavaliers with four on the season.

Cavaliers tame Tigers

Following its first back-to-back losses since 2011, the No. 6 Virginia field hockey team (2-2) wanted and perhaps needed a win in its home opener against No. 7 Princeton. Fittingly, the Cavaliers dominated Sunday at University Hall Turf Field in a 6-4 victory.

No. 6 Field Hockey suffers second defeat of season

The No. 6 Virginia field hockey team fell 4-3 on the road Thursday afternoon against No. 20 Iowa. Coming on the heels of a 3-0 defeat against No. 8 Penn State on Sunday, the Cavaliers have now lost consecutive regular season games for the first time since 2011.

Field Hockey bows out of NCAA Tournament

The No. 7 Virginia field hockey team fell to No. 10 Massachusetts in overtime Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, ending its season. The Minutewomen did not lead at all during regulation, but they found an equalizer in the final minutes and scored a golden goal in the first overtime period to eliminate the Cavaliers.

No. 7 Cavs commence tournament journey

The No. 7 Virginia field hockey team will seek redemption at the NCAA Tournament this weekend with a first round battle against No. 10 Massachusetts in Durham, N.C. after ending the regular season with a loss and subsequently faltering in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

Field hockey drops ACC Tournament opener to Duke

The No. 4 Virginia field hockey team was eliminated from the ACC Tournament Thursday morning, falling to Duke 2-1 in the first round. The fifth-seeded Cavaliers (15-5, 3-4 ACC) entered the game on two-weeks rest, and showed some rust in the opening portion of the game.

Buckley stars as Field Hockey downs No. 8 Duke

The No. 6 Virginia (15-3, 3-2 ACC) field hockey team held on for a 4-3 victory against No. 8 Duke (11-4, 2-2 ACC) Friday night in the Cavaliers’ final home game of the regular season. Following the match, Virginia honored its eight-member senior class, including star senior forward Elly Buckley, who scored three goals in the game.

Virginia (13-2, 1-2 ACC) has received unprecedented contributions from the freshman class. Three freshmen rank in the top four on the team in both goals and points, and five of them have contributed at least one goal or one assist this year, a feat matched only by the senior class.

Field Hockey splits ranked road matches

The No. 4 Virginia field hockey team split a pair of games in New York this weekend, falling to No. 5 Syracuse before defeating No. 12 Albany. The Cavaliers allowed five goals in the two games, the most in any two-game stretch all season.
